Adventures in Dress Up

Both kids are loving playing dress up lately. They've been pirates, princesses, and one of the favorites is Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. Here are some photos of the costumes we've seen lately. Please notice the big difference in expressions in the Buzz Lightyears. Evan apparently takes it all MUCH more seriously than his sister!

Will the real Buzz please stand up?

He takes saving the universe so seriously!

To infinity...and beyond!

Ahoy Mateys!

Don't make me have you walk the plank!

Evan's first baseball game

This past weekend we made an outing to take Evan to his first baseball game. The Rivercity Rascals were having an exhibition game at 2 pm, which is a much better time than their normal 7 pm games, so we planned on going. Can't beat $5 seats! What did the boy want for souvenirs? He chose a baseball cap (we both got one as well), a PINK baseball, a PINK bat, and a stuffed dog for his sister. The game wasn't all that exciting, but there was a lot for kids to do including a play area and some inflatable things where you could pitch the ball and hit. It was completely uncrowded, so Evan got to do it as many times as he wanted! We ended up leaving at the 6th inning as it was starting to pour rain and his interest was pretty much over, but it was a fun outing. Adrienne stayed behind with her favorite sitter Alicia and didn't miss her much needed afternoon nap! Evan "didn't need a nap". As you can tell by the last picture, there seemed to be some disagreement about THAT!

Check out these seats! It was less than crowded.

I love the expression on his face.

Checking out the action.

First beach trip 11/07

Yes these are much delayed photos, but here is Adrienne's first trip to the beach, Evan's second (but he doesn't remember the first). Obviously both kids had no problem charging into the cold water and loved watching the surfers!

WAHOO, ocean!

Surf city, here we come.

Mommy! There are SHELLS!

He could have been knocked over by a tidal wave and wouldn't have seen it coming as he was so focused on getting SHELLS.

Donna and Evan on the beach

How does one best display a shell collection? Like this! (Evan did this all by himself)

After a long day at the beach, everyone is tired. Can you tell who is not yet ready for a bed?

Guess who likes dress up?

Here is one weekend's worth of dress up. This is princess Adrienne with her special "cheese!" smile.

With the addition of the Tinkerbell crown and wand.

CHEESE again

Belated Halloween

It's a bird...it's a plane...it's SUPER EVAN!

First time he's gotten his face painted. Booooooo!

The little lady bug. Notice the face painting. Look familiar? :)

It's just SNOW FUN

You'd think that snow would make everyone happy, but apparently not all of us start out that way. Here is Mr. Happy Camper...

Sled girl!

Things are perking up with his snowboard.

Now that's better! SNOWBALL FIGHT!

Thank you Aunt Jan & Uncle John for the snowman kit. Isn't it cute?

photos photos photos

In the hopes of getting caught up I will skip many of the intervening things that have taken place and just show cute photos.

This is Adrienne's view of the world. Notice who is the largest!

I just love this picture of her, look at that cute smile!

SUPERSTAR!

Evan filled out this children's activity page in church (geared at kids age 7-12).

Adrienne's art work. I was impressed with the detail.
