We took advantage of the amazingly beautiful weather on Saturday to go to the zoo for the first time in a long while. For the first time ever, Evan was actually really interested in the animals and we ended up staying a lot longer than we expected!
Adrienne spots the "ippo!" with much excitement.
Baby elephant!
Elephant cuteness.
Loving the carousel!
He's not sure about why the carousel is taking so long to start!
On Saturday we went over to my parents' house and played outside. Evan is entranced with blowing dandelion seeds, and Adrienne (as she does in all things) wanted to do just what her big brother was doing. When she wasn't putting them in her mouth, she was pricelessly cute blowing them and having a blast. There are many more photos of her than of her brother because he is not feeling like he wants his picture taken much these days. Enjoy!
I wanted to document the transition for Evan from his old room across from us (where Adrienne now sleeps) to upstairs in his "Big Boy Room". We had planned this for quite a while, but here are the photos of the transition.
Here is the last night in his old room (sleeping on a cot).
Every time we get snow (and it has been more this winter than in the past several), Evan wants to go to Grammie & Papa's house to sled down their hill. I try to get some different pictures each time, though most elements are the same every time. This time I have a nice photo of Donna (love this one), Evan's snowman (her name is Acorn), and Mr. Cool Sunglass Dude.
Evan has discovered my camera, and is really enjoying snapping pictures whenever he can. We plan on getting him his own camera for his birthday, one that is more 'kid friendly' than mine (as I shudder each time he picks mine up). Surprisingly, he does pretty well with no prior camera experience. I've saved you the joy of seeing his pictures of the TV, the ceiling, the couch, the floor, etc. etc. etc.
After much coaxing and coercing, here is a selection of portraits from Saturday's visit to the new Portrait Innovations studio. The one we were scheduled to visit called us Friday night (appointment was scheduled Saturday at 11:15) to tell us their photographers were battling the flu, and would we mind rescheduling to another PI location that we didn't know existed that was much closer and they would give us a $25 credit. No brainer! Evan was slightly more cooperative than usual, and that in combination with Adrienne's continual movement was an interesting combination. I think they didn't come out half bad!
Evan is very excited any time it snows, which doesn't happen nearly often enough for him. Grammie and Papa have a wonderful hill at their house that is just perfect for sledding when the snow is just right. Here are some pictures from December '06 showing Donna and Evan having a blast together.
